THE RIGHT TO TRUTH: “FORGET ME NOT” ENFORCED DISAPPEARANCE VICTIMS

The article explained about the role of the right to truth on revealing the fate and whereabouts of enforced disappearance victims. The right to truth is an alienable rights that cannot be subjected to limitations. The right itself demand the State to provide complete information to victims’ families about the victims’ fate. The right applied not only for the victims and its family but also society since the right to truth has a purpose on preventing the crimes from reoccurring in the future. As a result, the right to truth established an obligation for the State to conduct effective investigation in order to clarify the victims of enforced disappearance fate.
