AJAR Submissions to Indonesia’s Review during the 80th Session of CEDAW Committee
Jakarta, September 2021 – AJAR, alongside other NGOs in Indonesia, sent two submissions to the UN Committee on the Elimination of All Forms of Discrimination Against Women (CEDAW) in contribution to the Review of Indonesia during the 80th Session of the Committee. The Committee on the Elimination of Discrimination against Women (CEDAW) is the body of independent experts that monitors the implementation of the Convention on the Elimination of All Forms of Discrimination against Women. The CEDAW Committee consists of 23 experts on women’s rights worldwide.
The two submissions by AJAR and coalitions put light on several issues in Indonesia: gender-based violence against women in conflict and post-conflict situations in Indonesia and violence against women in Papua.
